The differentiation between ceramic - also called organic - and sintered brake pads is in the way they are produced. Ceramic brake pads are pressed and heated in several cycles and is mainly produced for lighter vehicles.

SBS is transitioning 95% of it's sinter production into Conductive Sintering with the introduction of SBS Better Brakes. This production method used electricity to heat and pressure the brake pads in one cycle. The production method is thereby more efficient and brake products are performance developed and ideal for larger vehicles.
